STUDIO OTAMTO

EN A holiday home situated in the Kaszuby region of northern Poland designed for a multi-generational family of writers, artists and designers to share.

The house will be situated on the edge of a clearing which contains a managed peat bog and is surrounded by a pine forest. The overall form of the building is driven by this condition; a house with many faces, responding to different internal and external factors. It will have a superstructure of cross-laminated timber (CLT) and will be clad in dark, stained timber boards.

The heart of this house is a double-height living space with high-level glazing illuminating a mezzanine study and library. This main space also contains a deep bay window overlooking the nearby pond and leads to an external dining terrace facing the clearing.

Dom położony jest na skraju polany torfowej potocznej lasem sosnowym. Forma budynku wynika z tego otoczenia; dom ma wiele twarzy reagujących na różne czynniki wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne. Konstrukcja domu wykonana zostanie z drewna klejonego krzyżowo (CLT), zaś elewacje i dach zostaną pokryte ciemnymi, olejowanymi deskami.

Sercem domu jest przestrzeń salonu, kuchni i jadalni o wysokości dwóch kondygnacji, z gabinetem i biblioteką na antresoli. Pomieszczenie to otwiera się na taras i zawiera głębokie okno wykuszowe z widokiem na pobliski staw.
